Harrogate Town and Barrow played out a 2-2 draw at Marsi Fitness Stadium in the National League Regular Season on Saturday. The result keeps Harrogate fifth in the table while Barrow remain rooted to 23rd place after five matches.
Harrogate struck first through E. Bristow in the fifteenth minute, then doubled their advantage when C. Heffernan turned the ball into his own net in the thirty-fifth. Barrow were reduced to ten men for a spell after B. Hobson picked up a yellow card in the forty-second minute, and a wave of substitutions followed at half-time.
The second half brought a flurry of changes from both sides. Barrow brought on three players in the fifty-eighth minute, while Harrogate responded with their own alterations. Yellow cards for G. Walker and L. Barnes marked a competitive afternoon, and L. Barnes was eventually replaced in the seventy-fourth minute.
Barrow pulled level through Heffernan in the eighty-fifth minute, and just when the points seemed shared, I. Cameron fired a late equaliser for Harrogate in the ninety-sixth minute. The hosts had handed a debut to Bristow earlier, only to see him subbed off before the final whistle.
Both teams held fifty percent possession, but Harrogate registered five shots on target compared to Barrow's three. The visitors managed more attacks at 105 to 88, yet shots accuracy told a different story — Harrogate hit 71 percent to Barrow's 30.
The draw extends Harrogate's unbeaten run to five matches, with victories over Waldstone, Solihull Moors, and Scarborough Athletic among their recent results. Barrow's record remains difficult, with only two draws from five games and defeats to Hornchurch and Hartlepool among their latest outings.
