About the player
Alfie Stewart was part of the Inverness Caledonian Thistle side that won the Scottish League One title and took promotion to the Championship. He joined on loan from Aberdeen in July 2025 and made 35 league appearances, scoring six goals.
Stewart is from Newtonhill. He started out with the village club, Newtonhill AFC, before moving to the Aberdeen academy in 2022. His first-team breakthrough at Aberdeen came in 2024, though he made only a limited number of appearances for the senior side.
Regular football came through loans. In January 2024 he went to Peterhead, where he played 15 league games and scored once. It was the first spell of senior football that gave him a run of matches.
Inverness was the larger step. Stewart is used mainly on the right wing or as a defensive midfielder. His six goals over the promotion season came from a player.
He is still contracted to Aberdeen, but the link with Inverness continued. A second loan began in July 2026, this time in the Championship, and he has made three league appearances so far.
