About the player
Calum MacLeod's route into the first team ran through his home city. He joined the Inverness Caledonian Thistle youth setup in 2012 and stayed in the academy until 2022.
That debut came in October 2022 in the Scottish Challenge Cup against Hamilton Academical. League football followed only later, and in between he went out to gain minutes elsewhere.
In early 2024 he was loaned to Clachnacuddin in the Highland League. He scored on his debut against Rothes.
His first league appearance for Inverness came on 3 August 2024 against Dumbarton. About six weeks later, on 14 September 2024, he scored his first professional goal against Alloa Athletic.
MacLeod is not tied to one spot. His main role is in defensive midfield, but he has also been used at right-back and, on occasion, on the left wing.
