About the player
Albert Vallçi made just seven senior appearances for Kapfenberger SV before moving to SV Lafnitz and then SV Horn, where he scored four goals in 32 outings. A move to FC Wacker Innsbruck followed, and it was there, with 49 appearances and three goals, that he made himself visible enough for Red Bull Salzburg to pay a reported €750,000 for him in January 2019.
At Salzburg the trophies came quickly. Vallçi won four Austrian Bundesliga titles in a row and three Austrian Cups, though his 45 appearances over three seasons. He remains eligible for Kosovo through his father and Romania through his mother, but has not played for either country.
In August 2022 he moved to Switzerland, joining FC St. Gallen for an undisclosed fee. 96 appearances, seven goals, and a Swiss Cup winner's medal in the 2024–25 season. That contract was ended by mutual agreement in February 2026, when Vallçi returned to Austria on a free transfer to join Sturm Graz.
