Aaron Drinan

Aaron Drinan's 2025–26 season was the best of his career: 22 goals in 41 League Two games made him the division's top scorer. It brought the EFL League Two Player of the Season award, a place in the PFA Team of the Year and the PFA Players' Player of the Year award for League Two. He had already been named League Two Player of the Month in September 2025.

The Cork-born forward came up through Carrigaline United, then Cobh Ramblers and Cork City. He made his senior debut for Waterford in August 2017 and played his part as they won the League of Ireland First Division that year. Ipswich Town signed him in January 2018 for a reported £90,000.

Ipswich did not give him a settled run. He spent time on loan at Sutton United, back at Waterford, at GAIS in Sweden and at Ayr United. He also played seven times for the Republic of Ireland under-21s between 2019 and 2020. He has not yet won a senior cap.

The move to Leyton Orient in June 2021 gave him a longer stay. He was in the squad that won the League Two title in 2022–23, playing 33 league games and scoring twice.

Swindon Town signed him on a free transfer in February 2024, and his goals there have come steadily. He has scored 34 times in 93 league appearances for the club. He signed a two-year extension in June 2025, running to 2027, and agreed another in September 2026 that keeps him at the club until 2028.
