About the player
Aidan Elliott-Wheeler was handed a debut by Oxford United on 5 September 2023. He came off the bench in an EFL Trophy tie at Northampton Town, and Oxford won 3-1 away from home. He is from Kidlington, and came through the club's academy.
His route into that squad ran through youth football. In 2022/23 the Oxford Under-18s reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup, and he was among the side's top scorers. He signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2024. In the 2025/26 season he captained the Under-21s.
Most of his senior minutes have come on loan. His first spell was at Banbury United, and he went back there in September 2023 and stayed until May 2024. In March 2024 he moved to Hemel Hempstead Town, where he remained until September. The 2024/25 season took him to two clubs: Oxford City, on a youth loan from August 2024 to March 2025, and Salisbury, from September 2024 to March 2025.
The most recent moves have come at a higher level. Gateshead took him on loan in November 2025, and the deal was extended to April 2026. In February 2026 he also had a short spell at Brackley Town.
He has not yet won a senior trophy with Oxford United.
