Alexandru Buzbuchi

Alexandru Buzbuchi was the only player in the Romanian championship to play every minute of the 2024–25 Liga I season. He was also the only goalkeeper in the league to save three penalty kicks that year, a statistic the club has published on its official website.

Buzbuchi is from Constanța, and his career has stayed close to the Black Sea coast. He learned the game at the Gheorghe Hagi Academy, where he played from 2009 to 2012, and moved up to the senior squad of Viitorul Constanța in 2012. His Liga I debut came on 18 October 2012 against CFR Cluj. Over eight years at Viitorul he made 65 league appearances. The club's honours came in the middle of it: the Liga I title in 2016–17, the Cupa României in 2018–19 and the Supercupa României in 2019, and he was part of the squad for all three.

In August 2020 he joined Gaz Metan Mediaș on a free transfer. He played 20 league games there over two seasons.

At Farul Constanța he has become the first-choice goalkeeper, with 88 league appearances as of early 2026. The 2022–23 season brought the club its second Liga I title. Farul also reached the 2023 Supercupa României final, where they finished as runners-up.

Buzbuchi has not been capped by the senior Romania side. His international appearances came at youth level: five for the under-19s in 2011–12 and six for the under-21s in 2013–14.
