About the player
With Ajax's youth side he took the Mondial D title in Portugal, beating Benfica in the final, and was named the tournament's best goalkeeper. He has since collected other individual awards: best young goalkeeper, as chosen by the Netherlands national team's goalkeeping coach, and best goalkeeper at an international tournament in Russia.
He grew up in Nieuwegein, starting at the local club JSV Nieuwegein before joining the Ajax academy in 2005. He stayed there until 2011, then moved on to Vitesse and, a year later, to USV Elinkwijk. From 2013 he was with the youth and under-23 teams of Almere City, and he made his senior debut for the club in 2016.
In July 2017 he moved to Turkey and signed with 1922 Konyaspor. He holds Turkish citizenship and has played for Turkish youth national teams, though he has no senior caps.
He joined Eyüpspor in 2019 and was loaned to Kırklarelispor for the first half of 2021. Samsunspor, Bucaspor 1928 and Isparta 32 Spor came next, followed by 24 Erzincanspor in the summer of 2024. Each of the moves from Eyüpspor onwards was a free transfer.
İstanbulspor signed him on 16 January 2025, again on a free transfer, on a contract running until 30 June 2027.
