About the player
Duran Şahin came back to İstanbulspor in September 2025 on a five-year contract.
The centre-back is from Esenler, in Istanbul, but his first steps in youth football were taken elsewhere: he played for Trabzon Ortahisar Kanuni in 2021–2022 before moving to İstanbulspor's youth setup. In August 2023 he left for Portugal and joined Gil Vicente, where he played in the U19 side.
In the 2024–2025 season Gil Vicente loaned him to AD Camacha. He then returned to Turkey.
He has been capped once by Turkey at U19 level. He has no senior international appearances.
Şahin is right-footed and, at 189 cm, is built for the aerial side of central defending. He plays in the TFF 1. Lig, where İstanbulspor are competing this season, and the move home puts him in the first-team environment of the club where his development began.
