Vefa Temel

Vefa Temel spent the summer of 2022 unable to play for anyone. He had ended his contract with Bursaspor on 30 May, after 16 senior appearances for the club, and in June agreed a move to Giresunspor. The Turkish Football Federation then declined to issue the transfer certificate. Bursaspor had filed a lawsuit for unjust termination and had withheld the approval documents the move required.

The deadlock lasted until 15 September 2022, when Temel signed a five-year contract with İstanbulspor. Local media reported that the club paid Bursaspor 3 million TL in compensation, which settled the dispute and lifted the registration restriction.

The route to that point began in France. Temel came through the youth ranks at Nantes, the city where he was born, and in 2018 moved to Turkey to join the Bursaspor academy. He signed his first professional contract there on 14 September 2020. He has also played for Turkey at U18 and U21 level.

In January 2025 he went back to Bursaspor, this time on loan. The club had by then dropped into the TFF 3. Lig, and the loan officially began on 13 January. Temel made nine appearances and scored once before returning to İstanbulspor in July 2025.

In the 2025–2026 season he is with İstanbulspor in the TFF 1. Lig, on a contract reported to run until 30 June 2027.
