Andy Lyons

Andy Lyons scored the goal that put Bohemians past Shamrock Rovers in the FAI Cup quarter-final in August 2021, a solo effort that decided the tie. Five months later he was playing for Rovers.

He came to Bohemians by way of St Joseph's Boys and a short spell at Bray Wanderers in the summer of 2016. He came up through the Bohemians academy and made his senior debut in 2018. By the time he left in January 2022 he had played 58 league games for the club and scored once. That season ended with Bohemians losing the 2021 FAI Cup final.

The move across Dublin was controversial; the fee was reported at about €35,000. At Shamrock Rovers he played 31 league games and scored seven goals. The club won the League of Ireland Premier Division and the FAI President's Cup in 2022.

Blackpool signed him in January 2023 for a reported £350,000 (about €400,000) on a three-and-a-half-year contract. He has since made 56 league appearances for the club and scored five goals.

His progress was interrupted in February 2024, when he damaged an anterior cruciate ligament against Leyton Orient. The injury needed surgery and kept him out for at least nine months.

For the Republic of Ireland he has played at U19 and U21 level and won six U21 caps. He has not yet played for the senior side.
