Ariagner Smith

Ariagner Smith spent much of his time at Spartaks Jūrmala elsewhere. The Nicaraguan forward joined the Latvian club in 2018 and was loaned out five times: to Qizilqum Zarafshon and Lokomotiv Tashkent in Uzbekistan, Sputnik Rechitsa in Belarus, Veles Moscow in Russia, and Panevėžys in Lithuania. For Spartaks itself he made 37 appearances and scored eight goals.

The Lithuanian loan turned out to matter most. Panevėžys signed him permanently in January 2023, and he became a key player there, scoring 30 goals in 94 appearances in all competitions. His best league season came straight away. He scored 14 goals in the 2023 A Lyga, which left him joint third in the scoring list, short of the Golden Boot. He also played in the 2025 Lithuanian Cup final, which Panevėžys lost 5–1 to Žalgiris.

Speed has been part of his profile from the start. In 2014, the year he joined Real Estelí, he ran 200 metres in 22.82 seconds. He made his professional debut for the club in 2015 and stayed until he left for Latvia.

For Nicaragua he made his senior debut against Honduras on 16 March 2017. He has since won more than twenty caps and scored seven goals for the national side. He played a part in the team's promotion from CONCACAF Nations League B in 2022–23.
