About the player
Brodie Spencer made his Northern Ireland debut at 18 years and one month, in a Nations League match in Kosovo's favour: a 3–2 defeat on 5 June 2022, in which he set up Shayne Lavery's goal. He has since earned 23 caps, with the busiest year so far being 2024, when he played eight times.
Spencer grew up in Belfast and started out at Cliftonville. In August 2020, aged 16, he left for Huddersfield Town, and Cliftonville's youth side won the Harry Cavan Youth Cup only weeks after he had gone. He joined Huddersfield's B Team and made his senior debut in August 2022.
He went to Motherwell on a season-long loan from August 2023 and played 18 times before Huddersfield recalled him in January 2024. Overall he made 57 senior appearances for Huddersfield and scored three goals.
Spencer turned down several extensions, and the club sold him to Oxford United on 10 July 2025 for an undisclosed fee. Reports described the deal as lucrative for Huddersfield.
At Oxford he has played 28 times and scored once, as of April 2026, winning four caps in 2026 by 25 April. EA Sports FC 26 named him as an honourable mention in its Team of the Year selection. He has not yet won a senior club trophy.
