About the player
Yusuf Cihat Çelik was a member of the NEC Nijmegen side that won the Eerste Divisie in 2014–15. He came through the club's youth academy, made his professional debut there and played 14 league matches in that title season.
He first joined TOP Oss in August 2016. After a spell in Turkey he came back in July 2019 and stayed until October 2020.
The Turkish part of his career began at Gaziantep FK in 2017. In the first half of 2018 he was loaned to Čelik Zenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he made 23 appearances. He rejoined Gaziantep that July.
Çelik left TOP Oss for İstanbulspor in October 2020 and moved on to Akhisarspor in January 2021, where he remained until August 2022.
His longest stay came at Kocaelispor. He joined in August 2022 and was a key player there until September 2025, when he moved to Sivasspor. Across the Süper Lig, the 1. Lig and the Dutch Eerste Divisie he has scored five goals and set up four in 81 professional matches.
Internationally, he played for the Netherlands at U16, U18, U19 and U20 level. He has not played for the senior Turkish national team.
