About the player
Chilohem Onuoha was born in Berlin and started out at Reinickendorfer Füchse, winning the B-Junioren-Bundesliga Nord/Nordost title with Hertha in 2022. He then moved on to RB Leipzig, where he played for the U19 side in the A-Junioren-Bundesliga and the UEFA Youth League.
His path to professional football ran through a loan spell. Onuoha signed his first professional contract with 1. FC Köln in 2024, but a transfer ban at the club meant he was sent to SC Verl in the 3. Liga. He stayed there across two seasons, making 20 league appearances in 2024/25 and a further 13 in 2025/26, and was part of the Verl squad that won the Westphalia Cup. Accounts of his scoring record at Verl vary, with figures ranging from three league goals to a much higher tally across all competitions during his time there.
In January 2026, Köln sold him permanently to CF Estrela Amadora on a contract running to 2028, though he did not make an appearance for the Portuguese club's first team. Later, he was loaned to TSV Hartberg until the end of the 2026/27 season, with an option to make the move permanent. Onuoha has also featured for Germany's U19 side.
