David Sousa Albino

David Sousa Albino came up through Flamengo's youth ranks before switching to Botafogo in 2015, where he signed his first professional contract in December 2018 and made his Série A debut in September 2020. Over four seasons with Botafogo's senior side he made 22 league appearances and scored once, establishing himself as a left-footed centre-back before the club sent him out on loan.

That loan, to Cercle Brugge in July 2021, looked like a natural step up: 17 league appearances and a goal in the 2021-22 season. Then, on 6 March 2022, he suffered a torn meniscus. Surgery followed that July, and the injury cost him the entire 2022-23 season. He returned to Botafogo in June 2023.

He moved on again in January 2024, joining RWD Molenbeek, where he rebuilt his career with a full campaign in 2024-25: 43 league appearances and two goals. That run of form led to his move to Casa Pia AC in August 2025 on a free transfer, signing a contract to 2028. He has since made around 27 league appearances for the club, scoring twice, and wears the number 43 shirt.

Internationally, Sousa represented Brazil at under-15 and under-17 level but has not been capped by the senior side. He missed out on Botafogo's Brasileirão title in 2024, having already left for Molenbeek before the club won it.
