About the player
Khaly took his first steps in the game in Angola with Primeiro de Agosto, and the club finished as Girabola runners-up in the 2022/23 season. From Luanda he moved abroad in 2024, joining the Georgian club Dila Gori, before switching to Casa Pia AC in January 2025.
His name carries a note of caution. There is more than one Dominguês in African football, and Khaly is neither the Mozambican midfielder Elias Gaspar Pelembe, who holds the record for most caps for Mozambique, nor the Angolan midfielder Beni Mukendi, who also passed through Casa Pia AC. Khaly is the defender, and his path has run through the national team as well as his clubs.
He earned his first cap for Angola in 2024 and has since gone on to collect three appearances for the senior side. That first year in the shirt was also the most successful: Angola won the 2024 COSAFA Cup, beating Namibia 5–0 in the final on 7 July 2024, and Khaly was part of the squad that lifted the trophy.
At 192cm, he offers a commanding physical presence in defence, built more for duels and set pieces — none have been recorded for him so far.
