Daan Reiziger

Daan Reiziger was born in Groningen and came through the youth ranks at Be Quick 1887, then FC Groningen, before Ajax took him on at academy level. He made his senior bow with Jong Ajax, playing nine matches in the Eerste Divisie, and it was there, in the 2019–20 UEFA Youth League, that he had his best-remembered night: three penalties saved in a shootout against Atlético Madrid, a performance that had Voetbal International calling him the hero of the tie.

A free transfer took him to Vitesse in July 2021, where he made eight Eredivisie appearances over two seasons. He moved on again in September 2023, joining SC Cambuur on a free two-year deal, splitting his time between the first team, where he played three matches, and Jong Cambuur. His stay there produced an unlikely highlight of a different kind: in January 2025, he scored from long range for Jong Cambuur in a KNVB Cup tie against Dordrecht, a rare goal for a goalkeeper away from his own box.

In July 2025, Reiziger signed for SC Telstar, again as a free agent, on a two-year contract. At youth international level he was capped for the Netherlands from under-16 through to under-19, gathering eleven caps in total, though a senior call-up has so far eluded him. His career to date has been built on incremental steps between clubs rather than silverware, with no senior team titles or individual honours yet to his name.
