About the player
Daniel Azevedo came through Benfica's academy, joining as a youth player in 2006 and staying with the club until 2018, when he moved on after a single appearance for the B team. Two seasons at Académica de Coimbra brought little playing time — a lone Taça de Portugal outing — before a loan to Sertanense in 2021–22.
A move to CF Os Belenenses followed in 2022, though first-team chances stayed limited there too. In January 2024 he joined Casa Pia AC on a free transfer, with Belenenses keeping half of his economic rights. He spent close to two seasons as back-up before finally making his Primeira Liga debut in 2025–26, called into the side after Patrick Sequeira was injured.
In January 2026, with competition for the gloves restored, Casa Pia loaned him to Amora FC in Liga 3 for the rest of the season. He made seven league appearances there before returning to his parent club.
Azevedo's representative honours date back to his teenage years: four caps for Portugal's under-16 side and two for the under-17s, both in 2014. With Benfica's under-19 team he reached the final of the UEFA Youth League in 2016–17, finishing as runner-up. He has not been capped at senior international level.
