About the player
Daniil Silev spent his junior years in Saint Petersburg before the club released him as a free agent in February 2024. He joined PFC Sochi, and he spent the following seasons with the club's youth and reserve sides — first with the youth team, Sochi-M, in the Youth Football League, then with the reserve side, Sochi-2, in the Second League, where he made 14 appearances.
Silev made his senior debut for Sochi on 16 August 2026, in the Russian Cup against Volga. Sochi won 1-0, and the goalkeeper kept a clean sheet on his first outing. The result placed him among a small group in the club's history: only the third goalkeeper to win on debut while keeping the score at zero, after Soslan Dzhanayev and Nikita Karabashov, and the ninth in Sochi's history to record a clean sheet for the first team.
At 189cm and right-footed, Silev is a goalkeeper. His time at Sochi-2 in the Second League gave him a run of regular first-team-adjacent football before the step up.
