Dion Sanderson

Dion Sanderson joined the club's academy in 2007, signed his first professional contract in 2018 and made his competitive debut in October 2019. The 2019 Premier League Asia Trophy was part of that Wolves squad's record. Then came the loans.

The first was at Cardiff City in early 2020, where he made ten appearances. The one that brought recognition followed that October at Sunderland. He played 26 times, scored once and was voted the club's Supporters' Young Player of the Year for 2020–21. He was cup-tied for Sunderland's 2021 EFL Trophy victory.

Birmingham City took him on loan in 2021, and he made 15 appearances before a January move to Queens Park Rangers, where he played 11 times. He returned to Birmingham for the 2022–23 season and played 31 matches, scoring twice. That spell led to a permanent transfer in July 2023, for a reported fee of around £2 million. Birmingham made him club captain on his arrival. He made 39 league appearances for the club between 2023 and 2025.

In January 2025 he went on loan to Blackburn Rovers and played 12 times. Derby County signed him on a season-long loan that August. He made 22 appearances, scored once, and on 31 December 2025 Derby made the deal permanent on a two-and-a-half-year contract, for an undisclosed six-figure fee.
