About the player
Emmanuel Chukwu started out at Grassrunners FC in Ogun State before his move to TSG Hoffenheim. The centre-back, who stands 190 cm and plays right-footed, spent the 2025/26 season out on loan at Wolfsberger AC and has now switched to Austria Lustenau for a fresh loan spell.
His clearest calling card so far has come with Nigeria's U-20 side. Chukwu was a fixture in defence for the Flying Eagles at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt, starting all six matches as the team advanced to the semi-finals and secured qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Across his U-20 career he has been capped six times without scoring.
He has spoken of William Troost-Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo as the players he looks up to. A senior call-up to Nigeria's first team has not yet come.
