About the player
Gianni Bruno scored 18 goals for Sint-Truiden in 2022–23, a club single-season record, on loan from KAA Gent. It left him third in the league's scoring list that year.
Goals have followed him from one league to the next. At Zulte Waregem he scored 20 in 2020–21, and Gent signed him that June for a reported €2 million. His first season there ended with the Belgian Cup, won in 2021–22. He then went to Sint-Truiden for the season described above.
In August 2023 he moved to Eyüpspor. He finished 2023–24 as the top scorer of the TFF First League with 17 goals, and the club won promotion to the Süper Lig. In January 2025 he joined Iğdır FK.
His path there began in Liège. He joined the academy of Lille in 2007 and played for the reserves in the Championnat de France Amateur before his senior debut in 2012. A loan to Bastia in 2013–14 gave him a season in Ligue 1. In July 2014 he signed for Evian Thonon Gaillard as a free agent and was loaned out to Lorient for 2014–15 and to Krylia Sovetov for 2016–17.
He came back to Belgium in 2017 on a free transfer to Cercle Brugge. In 2017–18 the club won the Belgian First Division B title.
