Gianluca Gaetano

Gianluca Gaetano signed his first professional contract with Napoli in 2016, at the age of 16, becoming the youngest player in the club's history to do so at that time. He had joined the club's youth sector in 2011 and made his senior debut in 2019, the same year he was sent to Cremonese on loan. Across three seasons there, split over two loan spells, he made more than 80 appearances in Serie B and scored 15 goals, with the second loan agreed as a straight deal with no purchase option attached.

He returned to Cagliari in August 2024, initially on loan with an obligation to buy, in a move reported at around €200,000. Cagliari exercised that option in July 2025, making the transfer permanent for a fee of approximately €6 million. He went on to make 33 appearances for the club in the 2025-26 season.

In July 2026, Gaetano's development at Cagliari led to a move to Atalanta. Gianluca Di Marzio reported the fee at €12 million plus €2 million in add-ons, a total of €14 million, and Football Italia confirmed the transfer had gone through the following day.

At international level, Gaetano progressed through Italy's youth sides from under-15 to under-20 level before earning three caps for the under-21s, scoring once.
