Gabriel Delfim

Gabriel Delfim's professional debut came almost by accident. On 6 November 2024, Atlético Mineiro were preparing for the Copa Libertadores final, and with first-choice goalkeeper Everson rested for that occasion and second-choice Matheus Mendes absent following a family bereavement, Delfim was handed his first senior appearance, starting away against Atlético Goianiense in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. The outing capped a long apprenticeship inside the club.

Born in Simonésia, Minas Gerais, Delfim had joined Atlético Mineiro's youth academy in 2018 after spells with Santo André and Portuguesa Santista. He worked his way through the club's junior categories, picking up the Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-20 and the Taça BH Sub-17 titles along the way. His progress was rewarded with a first professional contract in May 2021, later extended in February 2023 to run until 2026, well before he had made a senior appearance for the first team.

Delfim was already part of the wider Atlético Mineiro squad during the club's 2021 Copa Libertadores triumph, though not yet involved with the first team at that stage. He was not registered for the 2024 Libertadores campaign, in which Atlético reached the final as runners-up to Botafogo. His honours with the senior squad include the Campeonato Mineiro in four consecutive years and the Supercopa do Brasil in 2022.

He has not featured for Brazil at any youth or senior level so far.
