About the player
Giovani Versini stands out in a striker's shirt at 167 cm, a build that hasn't stopped him from becoming a notable forward in the French lower divisions in recent seasons. Marseille-born, he spent his youth years at Burel FC before joining the Olympique de Marseille academy, then moved on to Clermont Foot, where his development ran mostly through the reserve side and a pair of loan spells.
The breakthrough came at Châteauroux in the 2024–25 season, on loan from Clermont. He scored five goals and added eight assists in 26 appearances, numbers that earned him the Championnat National Revelation of the Season award. That form persuaded Pau FC to sign him on a free transfer that summer on a three-year contract.
At Pau, Versini stepped up to Ligue 2 and delivered immediately: nine goals in 33 appearances during the 2025–26 season, a return that got him named to the UNFP Ligue 2 Team of the Year. The impact on the pitch translated into interest off it, and Stade Brestois 29 moved to sign him, paying a fee with a sell-on clause built in for Pau and handing him a four-year deal.
He has also taken his first steps at international level, earning two caps for the France under-21 side.
