Gustav Mortensen

Gustav Mortensen made his senior debut for Lyngby Boldklub on 20 May 2021, becoming the club's youngest ever first-team debutant. Left-footed and a product of the Lyngby academy, he spent the 2024–25 season out on loan at Vendsyssel FF, where he made close to thirty appearances and scored once before returning to Lyngby in the summer of 2025.

His return proved brief. In January 2026 Mortensen moved to Standard Liège, signing a contract that ties him to the Belgian club until 2030.

Mortensen has been a regular fixture in Denmark's youth set-up, working his way through the age groups from the under-16s, where he scored once in ten caps, up to the under-21s, for whom he has featured in UEFA European Championship qualifiers. He has also earned caps at under-17, under-18, under-19 and under-20 level, underlining a consistent presence in the national federation's development pathway.

At club level his numbers at Lyngby tell of a player who broke through young rather than one who dominated statistically, with his appearances there split across loan and first-team spells before the move to Belgium.
