Hampus Gustafsson

A goalkeeper's loan record does not often include a goal, but Hampus Gustafsson has one. It came at Ljungby IF in Division 3, where he spent the summer of 2021 on loan and played 17 matches.

He came from Sävsjö, where he played for his local club Sävsjö FF until 2016. That year, at 15, he joined the IFK Värnamo academy. His first-team debut came in 2021 in the Superettan, in a single appearance. Värnamo won the league that year and reached Allsvenskan for the first time in the club's history. Promotion was confirmed on 1 November with a 2-0 win away at AFC Eskilstuna.

Värnamo did not keep him in the squad, and he spent the next two seasons on loan in Ettan Södra. He joined Åtvidabergs FF in the summer of 2022 and played eight matches. He moved to Norrby IF in February 2023 and played 15. Both spells gave him regular football at the third level, which the Superettan squad could not offer him.

In February 2024 he left Värnamo permanently for Örgryte IS on a three-year contract. The club later extended it to December 2028. Sources that describe his game single out his footwork as a strength. He is comfortable with the ball at his feet and takes part in the build-up rather than only clearing it.

Gustafsson has not yet won an individual award or an international cap.
