About the player
Michael Parker came to Örgryte IS in February 2026 as a free signing from West Bromwich Albion. He signed a contract that runs to 31 December 2028. The move took the London-born defender to the Swedish Allsvenskan, after several changes of club in England.
His youth career began at Cray Valley Paper Mills. Huddersfield Town were his next club, from 2021 to 2023. That spell was followed by a short stay at Shrewsbury Town, which ended in September 2023 when his contract was terminated. Burnley let him go in February 2024, and he moved on to West Bromwich Albion later that year.
At West Bromwich he played 37 times for the under-21 side. He spent part of 2025 on loan at Hereford FC, where he made ten appearances and scored once. It was a rare goal for a centre-back, a role he can also vary by playing at left-back.
His departure from the Midlands came in early 2026. West Bromwich Albion released him from his contract, and Örgryte completed the signing on 2 February.
Parker has been an Örgryte player since that date and plays in the Allsvenskan for the Gothenburg club.
