Idris El Mizouni

Idris El Mizouni is a Leyton Orient player twice over: the club took him on loan in August 2022, and in July 2025 they signed him permanently on a three-year deal for a club-record fee.

He arrived from Ipswich Town, where he had been part of the academy since July 2017 and signed his first professional contract in December 2018. Before Orient, Ipswich sent him out to Cambridge United, first from January to March 2020 and again from September 2020 to January 2021, and then to Grimsby Town from January to March 2021. At Orient he was part of the side that won the League Two title in 2022–23, and he was named in the PFA League Two Team of the Year for that season. The loan ran until 2024.

In July 2024 he moved to Oxford United for an undisclosed fee, reported at between £400,000 and £470,000. Orient brought him back a year later.

His first season of the return brought 24 League One appearances, five goals and an assist. It was then interrupted by a significant injury that kept him out from 23 November 2025 until 13 March 2026. He has returned to the side in the 2026–27 season: seven league appearances so far, plus three in the EFL Cup, where he has a goal and an assist, and two in the EFL Trophy, with another assist.

He plays for Tunisia. His senior debut came on 7 June 2019 against Iraq, and he has two caps. For the Tunisia under-23 side he has two caps and one goal, scored against Egypt in November 2018.
