Theodore Valentine Archibald

Theo Archibald returned to Leyton Orient in November 2025 after the ACL injury he suffered in February 2024. He signed a short-term contract extension on his return. In January 2026 he was appointed club captain.

The injury ended a run in which he had become a key member of the Orient side. He arrived from Lincoln City on loan for the 2021–22 season and played 38 league games, scoring eight goals. The club signed him permanently in June 2022. In 2022–23 he was part of the squad that won the EFL League Two title. Then came the knee injury, and a setback late in 2024 extended his absence.

Orient was not his first stop. Archibald came through the Celtic academy and signed a professional contract in 2015. His honours from that period include the Glasgow Cup with the Under-17s and the SPFL Development League with the Under-20s. He was loaned to Albion Rovers for 2016–17 and made 14 appearances. In 2017 he moved to Brentford on a free transfer, made two senior appearances and won the Middlesex Senior Cup with the B team. A loan at Forest Green Rovers in 2018 brought one goal in 14 league games.

Macclesfield Town gave him more regular football. He played 28 times and scored four goals before leaving by mutual consent in May 2020. Lincoln City signed him that August.

Archibald has played for Scotland at youth level: five caps for the Under-16s, who won the Victory Shield in 2013–14, two for the Under-19s and one for the Under-21s in 2017.
