Ignacio Galván

Ignacio Galván first put on a shirt at five, with Club Cover in Almagro, Buenos Aires. A trial at Racing Club in 2012 ended in rejection; he went back the following year and, at 12, passed the evaluation at the Villa Modelo academy. He arrived as a left winger and was later converted into a left-back.

His first-team debut came on 11 May 2021, when Racing beat Sporting Cristal 2-0 in the Copa Libertadores under coach Pizzi. Galván signed his first professional contract six days later. Since then his development has run largely through loan spells rather than a settled run at Racing: in 2022 he spent time with Orlando City B in the United States, making 18 appearances. In July 2024 he moved on loan to Defensa y Justicia for 18 months, before returning to Racing.

In June 2025 he joined Atlético Tucumán on an 18-month loan with an option to buy, arriving free of charge. He now wears the number 21 shirt for the club. Coaches have pointed to his reading of the game and defensive solidity, with his style compared to that of Néstor Chamot.

Galván has not featured for Argentina's senior national team, and there is no record of caps at youth level either. His progress so far has been shaped instead by the succession of loans that have taken him from Buenos Aires to the United States and back into Argentine football, now at Atlético Tucumán.
