Jürgen Heil

Jürgen Heil spent the early part of his senior career at one club, and by the end he was wearing the armband. He started out at SV Anger, joining the youth academy in 2002 and working through to the first team, where he made more than 70 appearances between 2012 and 2015.

The move to TSV Hartberg in July 2015 turned into an eleven-year stay. Heil rose to become club captain and was part of the side that climbed two divisions, winning the Regionalliga Mitte in 2016–17 and the 2. Liga title the following season to reach the Austrian Bundesliga. Across his time there he made between 289 and 321 competitive appearances and scored between 15 and 19 goals, and he was regarded at the club as the side's key player and its "motor" during their years in the top flight.

That chapter closed on 30 June 2026, when his Hartberg contract expired. Sturm Graz announced his signing as a free agent on 23 May 2026, and he made his debut for the club the following July in Champions League qualifying.

At international level, Heil's involvement has stayed at youth level: he was capped twice for Austria's under-16 side in 2013, with no further appearances recorded above that age group and none for the senior national team.
