About the player
Jake David Leake came through Hull City's academy and signed his first professional contract in March 2021, though a first-team appearance for the club never followed. Instead, his development came through a string of loans: Boston United, then Scunthorpe United in 2023, where he scored once in 16 appearances, and Tranmere Rovers across 2023 and 2024. The pattern changed in January 2025, when he moved to Oldham Athletic on loan and made 16 league appearances.
Leake settled into a regular role at Oldham, wearing the number 3 shirt and adding goals to his game from left-back — two in ten league appearances during the 2025–2026 season.
Away from football, Leake has captained England's Youth Fly Fishing Team, leading the side to second place at the Youth Fishing International in Ireland and picking up individual honours including the "Best Fish" award and the Rose Bowl.
