Jonathan Frost Fischer

Jonathan Frost Fischer did not come up through a traditional academy pathway to the top flight. He worked as a substitute teacher in Denmark while playing part-time football.

Born in Copenhagen, Fischer began at AB Copenhague, where he made his senior debut and stayed until 2022, before a move to Hobro IK. His breakthrough came only after he joined Fredrikstad FK in Norway in January 2024. Within months he had won the Norwegian Cup with the club and was named Eliteserien Player of the Month for May 2024; he was also nominated for the league's Player of the Year award that season, though he did not win it.

That form led to a switch to FC Metz in July 2025, reported at a fee of three million euros, on a contract running to 2029. Fischer wasted little time settling in Ligue 1, starting 26 of Metz's 27 league matches in the 2025/26 season. His market value has followed the same trajectory, peaking at 5.4 million euros in early 2026.

At international level, Fischer has represented Denmark at Under-19 level, earning two caps in 2019. At 198cm, he offers an imposing physical presence between the posts.
