Josef Weberbauer

Josef Weberbauer's route to Admira Wacker has run almost entirely through the lower tiers of Austrian football. Born in Kuchl, he passed through Red Bull Salzburg's academy as a boy before returning to his home club, SV Kuchl, and only began senior football several years later at USK Anif, where he settled into regular first-team football, making 74 appearances and scoring eight goals over three seasons.

From there his career took him through a string of clubs rather than a settled home: a free transfer to SV Ried, and a further move to DSV Leoben, where he added 22 appearances and a goal to his tally. Each transfer came without a fee changing hands, a pattern that has held throughout his career. It is a path built on steady accumulation of minutes at smaller clubs rather than a single breakthrough moment.

Weberbauer now plays his football at Admira Wacker in Austria's second tier, wearing the number 33 shirt. His only representative football at international level has come at youth level for Austria, with no senior caps to his name.
