About the player
Kaius Hardén started at HJK's Herttoniemenranta academy before he was of school age.
Early recognition came from the Finnish FA. In November 2018 he was picked for the 2004-born boys' group at its "Tähtitarha" event, and he later played for Finland at under-18 level.
Most of his football was played for HJK Klubi 04, the club's reserve side, from 2022 to 2025. He appeared 91 times and scored 31 goals, in the Kakkonen in 2022–23 and then in the Ykkösliiga in 2024 and 2025. Alongside that he played for the HJK under-19 team, including in the 2023/24 UEFA Youth League. He appeared for HJK in the Liigacup in 2022, 2024 and 2025, but did not play a competitive first-team match in the Veikkausliiga or the Suomen Cup.
HJK kept faith with him in November 2023, when he signed a two-year extension covering the 2024 and 2025 seasons. That deal ran out, and in December 2025 he left as a free agent. He signed a two-year contract with FF Jaro, effective from 1 January 2026 and covering the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
His stated reason was game time. Hardén called Jaro "the right step" for his development, a move from a reserve side to a club where he could hope to play more often.
