About the player
Kylian Kouassi scored seven goals in 20 appearances on loan at Chesham United in the 2021–22 season. He was a Sutton United academy player who signed his first professional contract in 2020. Sutton sent him out to non-league clubs for experience: two appearances each for Bedfont Sports and Hampton & Richmond Borough, then the longer run at Chesham.
He made his senior debut for Sutton in March 2022. Across his time there he played 40 league games and scored twice. In August 2023 Blackpool signed him for an undisclosed fee.
Blackpool gave him 21 league appearances and one goal. At Salford City in 2024–25 he played 31 times: 27 in the league, three in the FA Cup and one in the EFL Trophy. All three of his goals came in League Two. Cambridge United took him for the following season, and he played 14 league games and scored twice.
On 1 September 2026 Colchester United signed him permanently on a two-year contract, again for an undisclosed fee.
Kouassi holds English citizenship and has not been capped by any England national team. He has said he would be interested in representing the Ivory Coast, through his heritage.
