Leonel Di Plácido

Leonel Di Plácido came through at All Boys, where he made his senior debut in 2014 and went on to make 59 league appearances for the club before a loan took him to Atlético Tucumán for two seasons. That spell in Tucumán was the springboard for the move that shaped his career: in August 2017 Lanús signed him permanently for a reported €700,000, and he settled into the side as a regular starter, going on to make more than a hundred appearances there.

Two loan spells in Brazil broke up his years at Lanús. The first, at Botafogo in 2023, brought 50 appearances and a goal, along with the Taça Rio. The second took him to Sport Recife for the 2024–2025 season, where he played in the Série B and won the Campeonato Pernambucano, though his game time was limited to a dozen appearances.

His biggest honour came back at Lanús: in 2025 he won the Copa Sudamericana, with the club beating Atlético Mineiro in the final. It was a personal turnaround as much as a club one, since he had already finished on the losing side of the same competition once before, when Lanús were beaten by Defensa y Justicia in the 2020 final.

In late November 2025, Di Plácido returned to Atlético Tucumán as a free agent for the 2026 season.
