About the player
Luka Marić came through the youth system at SK Sturm Graz, having joined the club at the age of five in 2007 and staying within it until 2019. He then spent five seasons with Sturm Graz II, making 66 league appearances and helping the side win the Regionalliga Mitte in 2019–20. His path to the first team was a long one, and it was not until November 2023 that he made his senior debut for Sturm Graz, going on to appear in two Bundesliga matches that season.
Even with limited first-team minutes, Marić collected a full set of honours during his time in Graz. He was part of the squad that won the Austrian Bundesliga in 2023–24, and lifted the Austrian Cup in both 2022–23 and 2023–24. He moved to TSV Hartberg on 23 July 2024, signing a contract until 2026 with an option to extend, in a transfer for an undisclosed fee.
Born in Messendorf, a district of Graz, Marić qualifies for more than one national team. He has represented Austria at under-18, under-19 and under-21 level, and earlier played twice for Croatia's under-17 side, reflecting his Austrian and Croatian citizenship.
