About the player
His move to FK Austria Wien in June 2022 brought the biggest moment of his career so far. On 3 August 2023, Polster scored the winning goal in a 2–1 away win over FK Borac Banja Niska Luka in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Austria Wien's supporters later voted it their "Goal of the First Half of the Season." He made 42 senior appearances for the club, scoring once.
A switch to Switzerland followed in July 2024, when he signed a three-year deal with FC Lausanne-Sport in the Swiss Super League. The move did not go to plan: after 13 appearances, both sides agreed to end the contract in January 2026. Polster returned to Germany's third tier shortly afterwards, joining TSV Havelse in February 2026 and making seven appearances.
For the 2026–27 season, he went back to Austria to sign for ASK Voitsberg in the 2. Liga. Alongside his club career, Polster has represented Austria at various youth levels, collecting 44 caps and five goals in total, including 13 appearances and one goal for the under-21 side.
He plays as a left-back, though he has also featured on the wing, and is not related to former Austrian international Toni Polster.
