Mariusz Paweł Stępiński

Mariusz Stępiński's career has been defined by loans that turned permanent. He left Widzew Łódź for 1. FC Nürnberg in 2013 but never made it onto the pitch for the Bundesliga side, instead being farmed out to Nürnberg's reserves and then to Wisła Kraków.

A move to FC Nantes followed, and then a string of Italian stops — a loan to ChievoVerona that became a permanent deal, a subsequent switch to Hellas Verona, and a loan spell at US Lecce where he scored nine times in 32 appearances.

It was in Cyprus that Stępiński found his most productive spell. Signed by Aris Limassol on loan in 2021 and then permanently for €150,000, he became a title winner, lifting the Cypriot First Division in 2022/23 and the Cypriot Super Cup the following year. That form carried into his move to Omonia Nicosia in January 2024, where he scored 12 goals in 27 appearances during the 2024/25 season wearing the number 99 shirt.

Internationally, Stępiński worked his way through every Polish youth level from under-15 to under-21, taking bronze with the under-17s at the 2012 European Championship along the way. His senior involvement has been brief: four caps, a debut against Romania in February 2013, and a place in Poland's 23-man squad for Euro 2016, though he did not play in the tournament itself.

In January 2026 he returned home, joining Korona Kielce on a free transfer and scoring four goals in his first eight Ekstraklasa appearances back in Poland.
