Mark Travers

On his Premier League debut for Bournemouth, against Tottenham Hotspur on 4 May 2019, Mark Travers kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win and was named Man of the Match, becoming the first teenage goalkeeper to start a Premier League fixture since Joe Hart in 2006. Weeks earlier, in the Carabao Cup, he had already made his mark by saving three penalties in a shootout against Forest Green Rovers.

Travers spent several seasons out on loan at Weymouth, Swindon Town and Stoke City before being recalled early from his spell at Stoke after an injury to Neto opened the door back at Bournemouth.

Travers became Bournemouth's first-choice goalkeeper in the 2021-22 season. He kept 12 clean sheets in the Championship, won the division's Golden Glove and was voted the club's Player of the Year as Bournemouth finished as runners-up and earned promotion to the Premier League. That summer, Everton paid a reported £7 million to sign him on a four-year deal.

Travers has also represented the Republic of Ireland, making his senior debut in a friendly win over Bulgaria in September 2019 and starting a World Cup qualifier against Serbia the following March. He was included in Ireland's squad during the Euro 2024 qualification campaign, though the team did not reach the tournament.
