About the player
Southampton signed him into their academy in 2012, and he left for Chelsea — only to return within two months, citing homesickness.
His time at Southampton's academy also produced a moment that travelled well beyond the club's own audience: a hat-trick of near-identical goals for the under-23 side against Newcastle United in April 2022 went viral. He was named Southampton's under-18 Player of the Year in 2024. On 25 August 2025, Everton paid a reported fee running up to £40 million to sign him on a four-year deal, with Southampton retaining a sell-on clause.
He was part of the England squad at the 2023 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, scoring in the opening match against New Caledonia, and he won the Pinatar Super Cup with the under-18s in 2024. His under-21 debut came against Spain in November 2024. A senior England cap has not yet followed.
