Thierno Barry

After his youth spells in the Lyon area and a breakthrough with Sochaux's reserve side, he joined Vasland-Beveren in 2022 and scored 20 goals in 31 league games the following season, a return that brought him the Challenger Pro League's top scorer and Player of the Season awards.

FC Basel signed him on a four-year contract in July 2023, and his first season there began badly: two red cards in his opening two competitive matches. He worked his way back into the side and finished with 14 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions, form that persuaded Villarreal to sign him in August 2024. At the Spanish club he scored 11 goals in 35 La Liga appearances in 2024–25, adding four assists, though a hamstring injury interrupted his campaign.

Everton signed him on a four-year deal in July 2025, paying a fixed fee that bypassed his release clause at Villarreal. He marked his arrival in England with a hat-trick against Preston North End in the Carabao Cup, earning Player of the Round honours. A goal was later disallowed for offside in a VAR review during a match against Ipswich Town.

Barry has represented France at under-21 level, winning eight caps and scoring once, and featured at the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. He has also had call-ups to the France under-23 squad. He is yet to make a senior appearance for France.
