Maksym Serhiyovych Kucheryavyi

The goal that Maksym Kucheryavyi scored against Stenhousemuir decided the Scottish League Two title. He was on loan at Kelty Hearts from St Johnstone at the time, and the goal secured the championship for 2021/22.

A Kyiv native, he came through DYuSSh-15 in the city. In 2018 he had a trial at Heart of Midlothian, and in July 2021 he moved to St Johnstone on a free transfer. He was not immediately part of the first team. He was sent out to gain experience: first to Brechin City, then to Kelty Hearts in the second half of that season, and in 2023 to Falkirk.

His debut for St Johnstone came on 20 August 2022, in a league match against Aberdeen. The 2023/24 season was his most settled: he played 28 league games. The following year he made four league appearances before his contract ran out at the end of May 2025. In all, he played 36 times for the club and scored three goals.

Kucheryavyi has also been a regular in Ukraine's youth teams. He won a cap at under-15 level in 2017, and he scored on his under-21 debut against Israel in November 2022. In 2024 he was in the Ukraine under-23 squad that won the Maurice Revello Tournament in Toulon, and he made four appearances for that side.

In April 2026 he joined Kaspiy of the Kazakhstan Premier League on a free transfer, on a contract running to the end of the 2026 season.
