Mario Ivanov Dilchovski

Mario Ivanov Dilchovski's path into professional football began at Vitosha Bistritsa, where the Sofia-born right-back spent the 2020–2021 season before a free transfer to CSKA 1948 Sofia. The move did not lead to a settled place in the first team; instead, the club sent him out on a series of loans, and Dilchovski spent three consecutive seasons — 2021–2022, 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 — at Strumska Slava, gathering the bulk of his senior experience away from Sofia.

That loan spell shaped the first phase of his career more than his parent club did. Dilchovski returned to CSKA 1948 without ever cementing a regular role there, and in January 2025 he moved on again, this time to Dunav Ruse on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs to the end of June 2027. At Ruse he wears the number 2 shirt and plays as a right-back or wing-back.

He is right-footed and, at 168 centimetres, notably compact for a full-back. Individually, his career so far has been about accumulating minutes and experience rather than silverware: neither Vitosha Bistritsa, CSKA 1948, Strumska Slava nor Dunav Ruse have brought him a league title or domestic cup during his time at the club. CSKA 1948's reserve side did win promotion in the 2022–23 season, though that success sat outside the senior honours that would normally define a player's list of achievements. Dilchovski has not collected individual awards either, now at Dunav Ruse.
