Marlon Joseph Fossey

Marlon Fossey grew up far from where his career took shape. Born in Los Angeles, he was raised in Jersey and began playing for St. Clement FC before Fulham's academy took him on in 2009. He never made a senior appearance for the London club, instead learning the game on loan at Shrewsbury Town and then Bolton Wanderers, where he scored once in 16 outings.

Listed early in his career as a midfielder, Fossey has settled into right-back and wing-back duties, and his form was enough to see his contract extended to 2027. He has become a regular starter and has scored around six league goals across his seasons there.

In April 2025 he was named captain of Standard Liège after Aiden O'Neill's departure to NYCFC, including reports that he learned French to integrate more fully with his teammates.

Internationally, Fossey qualified through his American nationality and made his senior debut for the United States on 10 September 2024 in a 1-1 friendly draw with New Zealand, adding a second cap the following March in a CONCACAF Nations League third-place match against Canada. His pedigree at youth level was already established: he was named to the Best XI of the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, a tournament the United States won.
