About the player
Martin Børsheim is best remembered at youth international level for a penalty save against Turkey. It came in his one cap for Norway's under-20 side and helped the team qualify for the 2025 U-20 World Cup. He also has four caps at under-18 level, five at under-19 and nine for the under-21s.
The Bergen-born goalkeeper started out at FK Fyllingsdalen and stayed there until 2018. He joined the academy at SK Brann in 2020 and spent the next five years with the club, mostly in the second team. From 2021 to 2025 he made 70 appearances for Brann 2, which is where most of his development took place. His senior debut for Brann came in the 2025 Norwegian Cup.
The move that changed his career came on 6 August 2025, when he left Brann for Fredrikstad. He had little time to settle. In the rest of that season he played 12 Eliteserien matches and three in the Norwegian Cup. He also made four appearances in European competition, across the Europa League and the Conference League.
He has not yet won a cap for the senior Norway team.
