About the player
Matthias Pieklak made his professional debut for Jong Genk on 7 April 2024, in a 1–0 win over SL16 FC, and kept a clean sheet on the occasion. He started out at Lommel SK as a teenager, moved to RSC Anderlecht's youth ranks in 2017, then switched to KRC Genk in 2020, where he signed his first professional contract in December 2022.
His time in Genk's first-team environment was brief. He made three appearances for Jong Genk in the Challenger Pro League during the 2023–24 season before leaving on a free transfer in July 2024, joining Lommel United — the club where his youth career had first begun. He now wears the number 23 shirt for the Challenger Pro League side.
